I cried so hard my darlin’ last night I thought I’d die
I finally realized you ain’t coming home
It was then I called it quits and made this solemn vow
I’d spend the rest of this ol’ life alone

I’ll never be true, say I do, love again
No I’ll just pretend right to the bitter end
I might cry awhile, try to smile, but in the end
Gladly alone I’ll spend, than go through this again

I set my sites on Monday to leave this place for good
To wipe away the memory of your smile
I’ll leave behind all past regrets with that city limit sign
From here on out I’ll treasure every mile
